      Default Growing japanese maples

Good day all, wherever you are. I am trying to grow 4 varieties of Japanese maple trees from seed. Has anyone ever done this? If so I am curious if you were successful and if so how long it took.

I know some varieties are very slow growing but I bought mine already started.
Hello by the way Forgot to say that

Mine was only about three or four inches high when I got it and this year it seems to have sprouted all of a sudden....for three years it barely grew and now this year has doubled in size!!
Here is a good site to look at...http://www.gardenaction.co.uk/plantf...se_maple-1.asp

Mine is in a container in the garden and seems very happy...I have two varieties...I'll go find a couple of pics and post them for you.

I just love the delicacy of the leaves on this one. It goes from the deep crimson to bright scarlet in autumn...gorgeous!!

I do love gardening but have changed over the past few years in the kind of plants I grow.
I used to grow lots of herbs (as I used to like to use them fresh both in cooking and medicinally). I still have a good few...rosemary, bay, marjoram, oregano, thyme, eucalyptus, different basils....but this year I started growing my own vegetables again and more flowers. I felt it lacked the colour I feel drawn to lately so have planted lots of mixed petunias/suffinias and fushias.
      Yes...in short...I love gardening!!! lol
