This sounds interesting. How long you have him ? I generally freak out when I see a snake, so its a good thing I only see them in zoos behind the glass, but I did pet a python last summer It was... an interesting experience..

We adopted Larry who had been abandoned in an empty house and I have him now for about 4 years....if you look on Michael's thread...Psy and her friends in Soul Reflections, you can see a picture of my babies as I call them
I also now have a bearded dragon called Lizzie that we adopted about 2 months ago.
Many people are scared of snakes and good for you for petting the python...they really can be so gentle. Larry can't be handled as he was mistreated but he's much happier than when we first got him!
