Do you all think its in humanities best interest to spend so much money sending a robot to mars instead of taking care of some of these starving people we have right here on Earth?

An excellent question SoulChild ... which no doubt will raise many debates and valid points on both sides on the coin .... I do believe it's a matter of finding the gray i.e., solutions that can work for both, between the black and white of such a situation ... yes, there is plenty of money to go around for both (and everything really) ... it's all a matter of how it's dispensed, but moreso who dispenses it i.e., politics ... which I believe is where the real problem the lies.

If I may offer this video as to one reason why such curiousities should be funded ... it shows such innovation and creativity by the human mind both individually and collectively ... which in turn, I believe, can be used in ways to help us, back here on Earth.
