What your computer does at night after you go to bed
Icon Story
Wouldnt it be great to have an extended version of that as a screensaver, just to freak people out who were passing the computer

What your computer does at night after you go to bed
Ha loved that!
Dont know why but I did click it till now.
Speakng of Computers, it look like a format is on the cards for mine... Well it's been a year and thats good for me!
Darn Windows Defender killed my firewall somehow but whats odd is Defender was disabled in startup.
Oh well.
Windows Defender killed your firewall?
How is that possible?
Hmmmm... Somthing popped up in my mind. Sinces I had problems with the latest iTunes update on Vista i'm not planning to install it again. I have iTunes on my iMac on which I connect my iPod Nano and it works like a charm.
So now i'm looking for another program that's good enough to rip audio cd's in various audio formats and it has to be with a gapless option so that it can copy cd's like Enigma as they are, without pauze between the tracks. What would you recommend?
Exact Audio Copy used to be excellent for ripping Cds to wav (you need to download an external encoder such as LAME to get it to rip to MP3 though.
Audiograbber is aslo a widely used one.
I used to use them both a few years ago but am sure what the current versions are like..
The PC downloaded an update for WD on the 4th and from that day my firewall cant update without getting stuck.
Did everything I can think off and it's still not working so I'm giving up...
Right now I'm backing up my Steam games folder (60GB) and will be moving on to music (45GB) and pics (30GB) next... Then it's a big (Well over due) Format!
So um yea I wont be around for a day or so while I get this thing back in shape.
Hello ,
Well, to see my computer configuration you can visit this page, i had this configuration from March, this yearas a result of a coincidence when my last year i burn out my motherboard, putting me in the face of big changes.
After i changed my computer configuration to a better one, i started to use Vista as my operating system, but recently i switched back to the old its grand - XP becuase of new GTA IV release... i'm amazed by this game even with his all "bugs"
Here's a screen of my Desktop:
MP3 Player - Samsung YP-T9 with 4 GB
As phones, i had a Nokia 3100, then a Sony Ericsson w200i and in present i'm using a Nokia E51 - a great smartphone ... i'm amazed by its functions
And not in the end, i have also a digital camera: Sony Cybershot DSC-W90

Well, talking about other gadgets and stuff, here's my 20GB Atrac3Plus/MP3 Player from Sony. It's the best i have ever bought and got it in 2005, it still has the same battery that came with it and up to now i didn't have any problems with it. The battery has never been changed and it still works like a charm after 3 years of intensive use.
Have to say it's even better then an iPod.
Well things are starting to look up, format now done and firewall is back updateing now. Happy days I hope.
Now just gotta see how stable this Vista 64 OS dump is and if all goes well we will be back gaming in no time! I mean hard at work in no time...
Cool, you installed Vista Start Menu if I'm not mistaken ? I heard its popular.. I myself only installed Vista Inspirat Pack on my XP (SP3), because it brings only only LITTLE Vista I like and at the same time I get to keep my simple XP with no crazy and unnecessary functions...
In the end I bought these headphones.. AKG K 432 P.. I'm not audiophile, so I asked around, said how much money I was willing to spend and I'm glad I got best for that money...
I love technology, my laptop is average dell is been I pain in the a** since day one, always crashes when I need it the most, you can call me crazy but I actually think that it has a mind of its own, am I crazy or it has a logical explanation or is it my way to explain the unexplained to me lol?
So one day I decided to format the hard drive on my own, but no experience whatsoever so I did it with a little help of a friend via chat on Spain, is so hard to follow instructions that way, it was worth all the way cause now it has been a good laptop quite some time, and I learn to do something I didn't before.
Nothing to say... silence is just beautiful
It's not your laptop. If you don't have the right programs to protect your computer from Spyware, Malware, virusses and all the other bad stuff that sneaks in from the internet, the damage is done and it seems sometimes that the computer has a mind of it's own, doing stuff that it doesn't suppose to do.
If you want a good and free program try Avast Home Edition. It protect your computer from all the stuff i mentioned before.
Also use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer 6 or 7 as your webbrowser.
Another little and free program that i can recommend is Advanced SystemCare 3 from Iobit. It tunes your computer so that it keeps performing better and has a few more little options like registry fix, spyware removal, disk defrag and it even checks the security of your pc.
And always be sure you have the latest updates and drivers installed for your pc/laptop and operating system.

I often find when you buy computers from high street stores they put a lot of programs and crap on that you would never use and they just it down, I am never happy till I have re-installed windows from scratch and put my own stuff on it.
There is nothing better then a MacBook. I would buy one if I had the money.
I use one for work. It has never crashed, and it runs like a top. I would trade my PC for this thing any day. In fact, I haven't used my PC in months.
Thanks for the advice I surely will use it... A lot! . I'm a freak for security so an updated antivirus is a sure thing as for tunning it up I use Super utilities 8.0.1985, guess that my problem is that I don't tune it up as often as I should. Just that my laptop has never been connected to internet, because I don't have internet connection at home, from Monday to Friday I use a Toshiba Tecra A7 the one I use at my workstation to stay on line and for everyday my blackberry pearl 8120 do the job. So I think maybe my problem was related to my former SO, I updated XP from SP2 to SP3 after formating, but that's an assumption that only time will prove me if I am right or wrong about that.

some of your setups make my computer look like a commodore 64
I only tend to upgrade it when I need to, at the moment it does everything I want it to do at a decent speed.. and thats all I need..
The need for speed is costly indeed
