Unfortunately I find that the apathy that made 9/11 possible in the first place is back in full force and that most people find it much more convenient to forget. But for those of us that lived through it and/or lost loved ones, every single day is a battle to stay focused on living itself. It never lessens and certainly never goes away.

It wasnt just New York, but Washington DC and the skies over Pennsylvania as well. In fact, Id like to extend this candle to ALL of the innocents, on both sides of this ongoing conflict, who have perished since that fateful moment.

Miss you Bobby D. You were and always will be the finest human being Ive ever known.

Yes, I completely agree with you Lorri ... not all of us have forgotten the sheer magnitude of the sobering reality of that day and those who lost their lives that day and those who have lost their lives since are not forgotten either!

Completely agree that some of us just don't forget.
The time I spent in southern Manhattan. To this day those images of the towers coming down truly wrench at my heart. Not to mention the friends lost.
May we All wake one day to find an Earth of Peace, Love, and Compassion.

With love true in my heart I light a candle for the people of southern Indonessia who may be effected adversely due to the two sizable quakes that have occurred today. The quakes were center 65 miles/105 km from the southern most Island. The first occurred at 1111 AM CST/511 PM GMT, and was of a magnitude 7.2 at a depth of 7.6 miles/12.3 km and registered as a Horizontal quake. Such a quake is certain to cause psunamis (?sp). The second quake was a magnitude 5.2, occurring at 303 PM CST/903 PM GMT, 70 miles/150 km to the south of Indonessia at a depth of 10.9 miles/17.6 km and was also Horizontal.
