Just let me know when it's all over and safe so that i can come back again.....
Don't talk about things you might want to do, nor postpone them... Just DO!
Feel free to withdraw your submission....
Within recent memory? Yes, indeed.
Agreed, though the lyrics are nearly as bad as the sounds.
I watched and heard the entire video, and I feel as though I lost 3 minutes and 48 seconds that will never be regained.
At least 72,000 watchers and listeners dislike it.... oh, wait, the number grew to 73,000 watchers and listeners as I typed this.
I withdraw my previous remarks from the first video and apply them to the excruciating "unplugged" version, as presented to the world by ABC News (?).
I hope that the guitarist and pianist received some compensation, but there is no hope for the adult man smiling, wiggling around, and standing on one leg for no apparent reason.
Hahahaha. I'm not even going there. Reading what' been posted here is scary enough. Hahahaha.
GT, how did you happen across this little master piece of horror? Hehehehehe.

Not going there either...bad when the reviews put you up!!!
I look at the music charts (singles chart especially) and am generally kind of shocked at what people are listening to. The music industry has totally nosedived the past 10-15 years. There's not even much variation, just horrible conveyor belt autotune/rap crap. Bleugh.
Came across this angle while watching a tech show on line (live.twit.tv) the host 'Leo' could not bring himself to 'sample' more than 30 seconds of it! .. lol I had to hear more and, well now I dump it on you guys too!
It's kinda got me wanting to find more now! ha!
EDIT, here is an edit from the tech show, with Leo's reactions.

Thank you for articulating that so well. I completely agree with you about the steep nosedive of recent vintage.
As most folks here probably know, one does not get much musical stimulation or creativity from contemporary radio and television.
Those with eclectic tastes must stray from the paths of current musical commerce.
yet we indies cant get anyone to listen for the most part and now that the labels have taken to posting on sites that have traditionally belonged to the unsigned indie artist, we're pretty much buried under this garbage the labels have the audacity to call music.
sell out or starve...id rather starve
Many people liked and still like the works of Van Gogh. LOL. I never cared for it. It just didn't strike me.
My point is that each of us are unique. And in this state of being we have unique appreciation for all the various forms of art.
Just because the works of Van Gogh never struck me, doesn't mean in any sense that the works of Van Gogh are without talent or merit. It's simply not the style of art 'I' appreciate.

lets not get worked up about it guys, its clear to see this song was made this way just for this reaction. It gets the the people behind it all the exposure they could ever need, indeed its not the first time they did this I have read. So IMO it's a stunt and also IMO a very bad one but it worked and 25 million views later shes going to make a packet off it, you can buy it as a ring-tone FFS!
What does concern me is are they telling this girl (13-years old) that she can sing!!?..Really? My god is that singing now? Are we going back to the 80's way of thinking in music that if you can't sing and can't play you will go a long way?... lets hope not.

You make a good point my friend! This discussion is worthy of a whole other thread. Everything falls within the realm of subjectivity of course - no doubt some people like and buy this kind of music and that's their right. But I think you can objectively tell is when art degenerates into manufactured corporate-driven product and is then no longer art. A LOT of music these days sadly falls into this category, and it's a distortion of art that no longer deserves to be called art. it's just product. and this has all the hallmarks I think.
So....you can dislike the work of Van Gogh but still agree that he was an artist. But if the work was commissioned by a committee who were deliberately aiming it to appeal to a certain cross-section of the public, if the colour scheme and subject matter and the placement of every single stroke was orchestrated by accountants based on maximum $$$ gain, and it was hyped up by massive market campaigns to convince people it's good...well, most would agree that isn't art. I guess that's my view of much of the music industry.
I don't know what my point is. My head hurts! Maybe this girl did write her own lyrics (which is not something anyone would probably want to admit in this case) and followed her own deepest inner muse to express something artful...in which case I guess it would constitute art. Just horribly bad (in my opinion!)
PS GT, I didn't realise this was who you were pimping on twitter! Didn't recognise the name
