      Default 'Mindfulness in Plain English'

Here is the link to an entire PDF book (also available to buy as a regular book, check amazon) called 'Mindfulness in Plain English'. It is a concise and I think very helpful text on meditation and mindfulness, written from a Buddhist perspective, but accessible to everyone regardless of their affiliations. I thought I would share.

As I expressed on Twitter, my first official act as Prime Minister would be to ensure that meditation was compulsory for the entire population When we're at peace in ourselves, we're at peace with others and the world. I would be a stark raving lunatic if it weren't for having learned the skill of meditation at a young age

Thanks Michael, I thought some people might find it helpful. I have more to say on the subject of mindfulness, I feel it deserves its own topic.

Just thought I'd share: some mindfulness meditations available to play online or download for free on itunes. They are simple but helpful and I would definitely recommend them

I remember starting the thread but not expanding on it as much as I'd wanted to. I find mindfulness such a pivotal "tool" and it's wonderful to see how influential/pervasive and recognised it now is, not just in spiritual circles, but in the mainstream and particularly with regard to the work being done to promote it as an effective aid to physical and psychological health. It seems mindfulness has been proven to be clinically effective in dealing with everything from depression to irritable bowel syndrome.

Hopefully the 'trend' will soon catch on here with the medical 'industry' in the US. It certainly has real bennifit.
