Random Thoughts (pt 3)

Funny, I just learned that someone I used to work with is a murderer. Yes, a murderer!! Apparently he'd killed his wife and done his time and then got a job as a security guard. Okaaaay. I'd never have known, he seemed quite normal and polite (although you wouldn't want to mess with him, but I assumed that was just his security guard persona lol). Just goes to show, huh....

Wow ... that is craaazzzy .... the guy is out walking free and has a job!?

I am sorry .... but you kill someone ... you do the time .... (I don't care if the person the killed had it coming or not) ... but you spend the rest of your days in prison ... and then you face the ultimate 'judgement day' ....

Huh!? Weird I've used the term 'judgement day' twice today ..... wonder why? .... wonder if it means anything .... oh lord I'm on such a self-reflecting path .... these days.

Yep here too, only two years ago one of the guys I worked with killed his Son and tried to top off his wife over money worries... He's locked up now.
I'm not surprised really as the very nature of our job can test the strongest man to braking point... and it's not uncommon for some to buckle.

It's very hard for me to understand murder, as someone who escorts flies out of the house rather than squishing them (well, usually, anyway!). Don't know how this guy got the job, you'd think if it came up on someone's disclosure that they committed murder they'd immediately go to the very end of the list of applicants!! But I can't really judge. Everyone has their path I suppose. I remember that saying 'every saint has a past and every sinner has a future'

I've heard of guys who flip over financial matters and kill their families. It's so unbearably sad, and so tragic that it's over money. Our culture's worship of money has a lot to answer for. Not saying it's pleasant to be in money worries, but ultimately human life is worth so so much more than slips of paper.
