Growth Through Adversity
I just like this... and it is seldom heard.
Was anyone else as affected by this genius song as I was… and still am?
“Hide in Your Shell,” by Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies
Originally from Supertramp’s Crime of the Century
Hide in your shell, ‘cause the world is out to bleed you for a ride.
What will you gain, making your life a little longer?
Heaven or Hell, was the journey cold that gave you eyes of steel?
Shelter behind, painting your mind and playing joker.
Too frightening to listen to a stranger
Too beautiful to put your pride in danger
You’re waiting for someone to understand you,
But you’ve got demons in your closet
And you’re screaming out to stop it
Saying life’s begun to cheat you
Friends are out to beat you
Grab on to what you can scramble for
Don’t let the tears linger on inside now
‘Cause it’s sure time you gained control.
If I can help you, if I can help you
If I can help you, just let me know.
Well, let me show you the nearest signpost
To get your heart back and on the road.
If I can help you, if I can help you
If I can help you, just let me know.
I had been thinking of this song since waking this morning. How long it's actually been since I had purchased this 'cassette' and all the changes that have occurred since... Wow...

"In the Mood"? Perfection.
Thanks for sprinkling a new ingredient into our musical recipe of many chefs.
"In the mood?" Always, particularly here.
You're welcome dearest .... and yep, I am always 'In the Mood' when I come here too!
(On a trivial note) You know its funny back when I was kid, my sister and I attended the same Catholic School (all thanks to our parents subjection - even though we were not raised Catholics). She and I dreaded going to school so, in order to motivate herself everyday ... she would slap on Glenn Miller's record (and I mean an actual vinyl record) and play this tune to get herself moving and dressed and off to school! Everytime I hear this tune I think of those mornings, though I am not reminded of the dread of going to school, but of the fun we found in those mornings. My sister is so cool and I love her to bits!

Turn it up.
This song will not play in quiet mode.
The Hollies
"Long Cool Woman (In a Black Dress)"
Wow that took me back Anjou!! Here is another couple of theirs that are a bit more mellow.....this first one was a favourite of my dad's.
Thanks for both of those great songs by the Hollies. They are both well-crafted with great vocals. "The Air That I Breathe" is a particular favourite of mine. It is a romantic ballad, yet it has a sexy subtext of blissful yearning.
Making love with you has left me peaceful, warm, and tired....
