Definitely a lovely and distinct voice Joan Baez has ... :)
Many years ago ... I was fortunate enough to have walked by Joan Baez in New Bedford Ma. She was casually walking with her guitar on her right shoulder accompanied by a few friends ... then later that day, while in a restaurant looking out the winodow at the building below us, I saw her again ... she was busy having a good time recording some tracks with her friends ... :)
Dusty Springfield was such a great singer and very underestimated. It is interesting to note that she also did a track with the Pet Shop Boys.

First, I love Dusty Springfield, so thanks. (And yes, she is hugely underestimated.)
Second, perhaps you were reading my mind, but recently I almost posted the Dusty/Pet Shop Boys collaboration but was pressed for time. I'm glad that you posted it. It is a great track.
I love the old ballads and some of the soul ones were the best. Just gotta love Harold Melvin's voice here.....

I immediately start humming this song whenever I think of the film.... It is completely infectious, regardless of the performer.
