That is curious, in a lot of ways.
The popular theory to this current event is: vibrations from the visitors are causing the sculpture to move. You may have noticed it only spins during daytime hours ....
I suspect there were a few visitors wondering why the sculpture was facing the wall.
It's still cool to watch.

It always spins in the same direction, speed and always stops at the exact same spot. .. I can't see how that would be people and/or traffic related unless they only let the same number in every day.
Plus, look carefully at the video when it gets dark and all the people are gone, it's still moving a little bit
then stops until the next day.

The egyptmanchester-site has the following explanation for the spinning statue if anyone is interested:
The explanation for the movement is disappointingly simple. This was made quite obvious when the statuette was taken out of its case during refurbishment works on the gallery a few weeks ago. The base of the statuette is convex and was prone to pivot on a certain point, and the statuette spun very easily when given the slightest nudge – or from tapping the glass shelf on which it rested. Even very subtle vibrations would cause such movement. On consulting older images of the piece on display, it was seen that a plastazote base had been put in place to stopped this action in the previous gallery. A conservation-grade membrane has now been affixed to the base of this and other objects to prevent movement in future. The source of vibrations included a combination of the footfall of visitors, traffic outside and work in and around the building. Although the precise physics of the motion are still being debated, of all the explanations offered it seemed to me that the ‘rattleback’ theory is most persuasive.

Traffic outside could also play it's part too but it would have to be constant as it's moving all through the night.
Still, it has me interested but as they did not set up a full battery of scientific tests before making sure it can't move from this point on, we probably won't find the full answer. :(
How many volunteers did they get to be night watch? Hell, I'd have done it!
