Sigur Rós - the greatest tracks!

Only two weeks before Sigur Rós release their first album in 4 years, 'Valtari', which sounds so incredibly beautiful from what i've heard of three tracks. To celebrate the return of what I believe is the greatest band in the world, I will post my favourite tracks. Enjoy! As someone once said to me, if you haven't yet discovered the immense beauty of this incredible band, then you've failed at life. LOL. Extreme, but I can see where they're comin from ;)

SVEFN-G-ENGLAR:

The first song I ever heard by them and I was enchanted. It's totally like any other piece of music I've ever heard. The critics were astounded when it appeared out of nowhere around 1999 - one memorably said it was "like God weeping tears of gold from heaven". The award-winning video is really moving.

UNTITLED 8 / POPPLAGIO:

Yup I know this is long but it's worth every second, the closing track from the epic ( ) album, and perhaps the best live performance of anything...ever. Certainly the best long slow-build I've ever seen or heard in music...this builds up to a blistering, heart-stopping climax where you feel your soul could almost leave your body. It's just amazing and so powerful.

HOPPIPOLLA:

This song has actually been spoiled a bit by the fact it's been used in about 10 million different film and TV trailers, adverts and reality shows. It's still an incredible piece of music though, evocative, emotional and truly anthemic, I adored it from the moment I heard it.
