note; this thread should be in the Healing Wisdom forum.

For but a moment still your thoughts. Allow your mind to truly be quiet. Remain still and undistracted. Allowing your breathing to become unlabored and at ease. With each breath your mind becomes ever more quiet.
Remain in the peace of the moment, in this quiet place.
Without effort, allow your consciousness to expand out beyond the confines of your mind. Flowing effortlessly out.
No thought. No goal. Simply the moment. Be of that moment.
When you 'feel' the time has come to return to your thoughts, simply refocus on your surroundings.
The more you practise this, the more effortless it will become. You will find yourself able to maintain this state of quietness for longer durations. It's bennits will also become more apparent with each new experience.
If done just prior to falling asleep, you will find your sleep comes easier and your sleep will be more restfully.
If done prior to a meal, even if only for a brief time, it will improve your body's abilities to absorb the necessary nutrients. And ease digestion.
If done during an illness, your body is better able to relax and rest. Enhancing your natural abilities to heal your body.
If practise regularly (each day), your physical, mental, and emotional aspects will come more into balance.
Should you begin your day with this practise, you will find yourself more alert and aware through-out your day.
This is a very simple process, with tremendous bennifits when done regularly.
It is simply a matter of being still in the moment.

Yes I can vouch for this too. It settles and calms everything and allows you to tap into your Higher Self :):two hearts:

Thank you for sharing my friend, I would urge everyone to heed Michael's words! It is the true essence of meditation made simple :) I have practised since I was 16 years old. I truly believe to go still and within regularly is the greatest gift anyone can give themselves.

And Far Better than Any Drug...

This is so true, Michael.

I know that this is not exactly like the meditative practice of which you speak, but it reminded me of a bible verse from my childhood, but I believe it is a corollary to your words:
