well its Halloween, a special night in the House of Ether. And who better to play the stage for the freak show than the kings of the gothic steppes themselves....The Cure. Perhaps my favorite all time band and most certainly the one that influenced me most as an artist.

Another one of those progressive bands that I just absolutely love that mainstream audiences have never heard of. The Pineapple Thief is very well known in progressive circles, however, for their emotive ambient leanings and a voice that reminds of Jon Anderson of Yes.

I absolutely adore this song from their 2008 release, Tightly Unwound, which in my book was the best album of last year.

So do I Lorri, a classic track, In fact the whole of Urban Hymns is brilliant..

This was probably The Verves finest song but they virtually made no money from royalties from it due to using a sample from an obscure Rolling Stones song.. :no.1:

I love this verse

Well, I've never prayed,
But tonight I'm on my knees, yeah
I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah
I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind , I feel free now
But the airwaves are clean and there's nobody singing to me now

Its been kinda wet over here this week

E_-AbLKW6rs&NR=1

There’s a storm outside, and the gap between crack and thunder
Crack and thunder, is closing in, is closing in
The rain floods gutters, and makes a great sound on the concrete
On a flat roof, there’s a boy leaning against the wall of rain
Aerial held high, calling come on thunder, come on thunder

Sometimes, when I look deep in your eyes, I swear I can see your soul
Sometimes, when I look deep in your eyes, I swear I can see your soul

It’s a monsoon, and the rain lifts lids off cars
Spinning buses like toys, stripping them to chrome
Across the bay, the waves are turning into something else
Picking up fishing boats and spewing them on the shore

The boy is hit, lit up against the sky, like a sign, like a neon sign
And he crumples, drops into the gutter, legs twitching
The flood swells his clothes and delivers him on, delivers him on

Sometimes, when I look deep in your eyes, I swear I can see your soul
Sometimes, when I look deep in your eyes, I swear I can see your soul

There’s four new colors in the rainbow
An old man’s taking polaroids
But all he captures is endless rain, endless rain
He says listen, takes my head and puts my ear to his
And I swear I can hear the sea

Somtimes, when I look in your eyes I can see your soul
(I can reach your soul)
(I can touch your soul)
Sometimes

I dedicate this to Michael J. Walker....:two hearts: Peace :two hearts:

You think I'd leave your side baby
You know me better than that
You think I'd leave you down when you're down on your knees
I wouldn't do that

I'll tell you you're right when you want
And if only you could see into me

Oh when you're cold, I'll be there
Hold you tight to me

When you're on the outside baby and you can't get in
I will show you, you're so much better than you know
When you're lost and you're alone and you cant get back again
I will find you darling and I will bring you home

And if you want to cry
I am here to dry your eyes
And in no time, you'll be fine

You think I'd leave your side baby
You know me better than that
You think id leave you down when you're down on your knees
I wouldn't do that

I'll tell you you're right when you want
And if only you could see into me

Oh when you're cold, I'll be there
Hold you tight to me
Oh when you're low
I'll be there by your side baby

Oh when you're cold, I'll be there
Hold you tight to me
Oh when you're low
I'll be there by your side baby

War Of The Heart lyrics
I could aim
But I could not fire
Got a bullet to spare
To kill my desire
Who's calling the shots
One of us must make the Peace
To have or to have not
The fire has got to cease
I'm loaded
Don't know where to point this thing
It's a sin
How we hit where it hurts

Who's calling the shots
One of us must end this masquerade
To have or to have not
Let's heal the wounds that we've made

It'a a war of the heart (it's a war of the heart)
It's a war of the heart

Got a bullet to space, don't wanna send it your way

Who's calling the shots
One of us, must make the peace
To have or to have not
The fire has got to cease

It'a a war of the heart (it's a war of the heart)
It's a war of the heart

I'm loaded
Don't know where to point this thing
(it's a sin) It's a sin
How we hit where it hurts (where it hurts)

One of us
Gotta end this masquerade
Got to heal the wounds that we've made
I've got a bullet to spare
Don't want to send it your way
If you want to end it
If you want to end it just say

It'a a war of the heart (it's a war of the heart)
It's a war of the heart

(Got to end this masqurade)

I've got a bullet to spare
Don't want to send it your way
If you want to end it
If you want to end it just say

It'a a war of the heart
It's a war of the heart
It'a a war of the heart

He told me sweet lies of sweet love
Heavy with the burden of the truth
And he spoke of his dreams
Broken by the burden
Broken by the burden of his youth
Fourteen years he said
I couldn't look into the sun
She saw him laying at the end of my gun
Hungrey for life
And thirsty for the distant river
I remember his hands
And the way the mountains looked
The light shot diamonds from his eyes
Hungry for life
And thirsty for the distant river
Like the scar of age
Written all over my face
The war is still raging inside of me
I still feel the chill
As i reveal my shame to you
I wear it like a tattoo
I wear it like a tattoo
I wear it like a tattoo

You're not the man who gave me everything
I've ever wanted
You're not the man
Who stepped inside my life
And haunted every, every day

You're not the man
Who said he'd never leave
Couldn't breathe
And could not sleep without me

This was someone who you left behind
A long time ago

You're not the man
Who would bleed for me
But never shed a tear
You're not the one
Said he'd always be near

You're not the man
Who threw me a lifeline
And you're not the man
I am so proud to call mine

And you're not the one
Who said he'd never leave
The one who made me believe in me
That was someone who could do no wrong
But you lost him

You're not the man
Who would bleed for me
But never shed a tear
You're not the one
Who said he'd always, always, always be here
said he'd always always be near

But don't get me wrong
Although it seems sad
It's not all bad
You see
I'm not the little girl I use to be

You're not the man
Not the one
Who said he'd always, always, always be near

He was everything you see
He made me believe in me
Said he'd alway always always be here

"The Power Of Love"

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door

Feels like fire
I'm so in love with you
Dreams are like angels
They keep bad at bay-bad at bay
Love is the light
Scaring darkness away-yeah

I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

[1]-The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door
When the chips are down I'll be around
With my undying, death-defying
Love for you

Envy will hurt itself
Let yourself be beautiful
Sparkling love, flowers
And pearls and pretty girls
Love is like an energy
Rushin' rushin' inside of me

[Repeat 1]

This time we go sublime
Lovers entwine-divine divine
Love is danger, love is pleasure
Love is pure-the only treasure

I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
The power of love
A force from above
A sky-scraping dove

Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door

PMO3hpqzuPY

Where, Oh where have you been my love?
Where, Oh where can you be?
It's been so long, since the moon has gone
And oh what a wreck you've made me

Are you lost, over the oceans?
Are you there, up in the sky?
Until the return of my love
This lullaby

My hope is on the horizon
Every face, your eyes I can see
I plead and pray though each night and day
Our embrace is only a dream

And as sure as days come from moments
Each hour becomes a life's time
When she'd left, I'd only begun this lullaby

It is like a dream you just don't want to wake up from, it feels so gawd damn real and gooood, and then you do wake up ... and you find yourself thinking about how good the dream was all day long and wishing it never ended! (I frickin' hate that!)

What can i say dear Lorri..... Linkin Park, i started to love those songs of them years ago after the hit "In the end" was just released. I bought Hybrid Theory and Meteora.
One day, after hanging out in our pub, a good friend of mine came home with me and she said that i had to listen some more closely to the lyrics because they were..... well... me.
The way i felt and still feel sometimes.

When that happens and i am hitting the floor of all my and enter my "hell" of stress, negativity and depression, i just pop in those cd's, pick out Crawling, In the End, Faint, Numb and so on and turn up the volume.

It's my way to vent and blow off some steam.....

Okay guys...here is what I am listening to it is called the 'Mask' by the Fugees. I felt a need to hear this song because of the mask I wear at work everyday. I just really wished some people knew the real me behind the mask. But, unfortunately, some people don't care to.

I am missing home...they want me to come home for the holidays. But, unfotunately, I work in retail, and when you except a job in retail, you are basically signing a contract saying you will work on holidays and weekends. I am thinking of leaving this job, but not right now because I want to purchase a house, and it is not wise to change anything dealing with my finances and credit. So, I stay and swallow....but, I sure miss home!

Oh so long for this night I prayed
That a star would guide you my way
To share with me this special day
Where a ribbon's in the sky for our love

If allowed may I touch your hand
And if pleased may I once again
So that you too will understand
There's a ribbon in the sky for our love

Do...Do...
Do Do Do Do Do...
HMM HMM...

This is not a coincidence
And far more than a lucky chance
But what is that was always meant
Is our ribbon in the sky for our love, love

We can't lose with God on our side
We'll find strength in each tear we cry
From now on it will be you and I
And our ribbon in the sky
Ribbon in the sky
A ribbon in the sky for our love

Do...Do...
Do Do Do Do Do...
HMM HMM...

Guys don't forget posting videos is now so much easier than it use to be! No need for YT tags or codes anymore!! And whats better is now you can have them in wide-screen too.

Just get the full URL of the video in question, click the new 'Film' type Icon in your post and paste your link! There you have it! Simple? I think so!

Also you can now post videos from: Hulu (http://www.hulu.com/), YouTube (www.youtube.com), Vimeo (www.vimeo.com), Dailymotion.com (www.Dailymotion.com), Metacafe (www.Metacafe.com), Google (http://video.google.com/), facebook (www.facebook.com) plus more to be added later!

Have fun!

NB Remember not all videos are suitable for an open forum viewing, please do not post anything that could warrant action on the mods part. Repeat offenders will be banned.

(YT tags will be removed at a later date so STOP using them lol! )

I somehow have an affinity with this song and LOVE the line "I've had so many lives since I was a child, and now I realise how many times I've died." I don't know why, but I so so so relate to this...

A promise lives within you now

I'm listening to the second album I bought from Blue Stone.. I bought Breathe and there's one song which I highly recommend you to listen to.
At the moment I'm at work and hey, I can access youtube, but am not able to actually see the youtube images here, so I skip the Youtube link since I'm not able to -see and hear- what link I attach.. you never know. :)

But please do check out the song "Only One" from the Blue Stone Breathe album... :)
It's a terrific song..

Oh and the album contains many samples which are very well known, like from Enigma.. Howver, when you listen to the last few seconds of " I am", there's a sample (I at least think so) which has been used for the Enigma "lost 8" (a guess of the song title by heart, or at least a Lost song..). But very recognisable (is that a word?) and therefore this cd is a pleasant listen..

They are definitely the new Delerium as far as I've concerned. 'Breathe' isn't my favourite album, it's very pleasant but struck me as more of a try-out album, but I adore 'Worlds Apart' and their latest album 'Messages'.

Hey Rory,

I also admit that I like Worlds Apart more than Breathe. I almost like all songs as a complete story of the cd Worlds Apart, and as for Breathe, that's not there (yet?).. Although there are some great songs which sure draw my attention, like Confession. (The start of the song is very moving, and well set up.)

And I totally agree with you that they are (my?) new (or my old?) Delerium..! :)

Apparently Cretu is getting on the band wagon as well, in the effort of making some sort of donation(s) for those in Haiti!

It truly is a beautiful thing we are witnessing right now in time - the Human spirit as a collective whole is shining so brightly right now that is actually obscuring the darkness we usually live in!!

I know what you mean. It is deeply heartening to see so many people joining together. I saw the comment online 'they are US' and was blown away by that. We're finally waking up...I hope!

Hi!
great song Tzvika and Peter, I like it a lot too, although I only heard a few times.. Am going to make a new purchase at Itunes.. :)

At the moment I'm listening to a Dutch woman singer Caro Emerald with the song, A night like this..
It's catchy and I really like the style she adds and recalls.. And furthermore her voice in the clip is equal when she's performing live.. just very good.

Memory comes when memory's old
I am never the first to know
Following this stream up north
Where do people like us float?

There is room in my lap
For bruises, asses, handclaps
I will never disappear
For forever, i'll be here

Whispering
Morning keep the streets empty for me
Morning keep the streets empty for me

I laying down, eating snow
My fur is hot, my tongue is cold
On a bed of spider web
I think about to change myself

A lot of hope in one man tent
There's no room for innocence
So take me home before the storm
Velvet mites will keep us warm

Whispering
Morning keep the streets empty for me
Morning keep the streets empty for me

Whispering
Morning keep the streets empty for me
Morning keep the streets empty for me

Uncover our heads and reveal our souls
We were hungry before we were born
Uncover our heads and reveal our souls
We were hungry before we were born
Uncover our heads and reveal our souls
We were hungry before we were born
Uncover our heads and reveal our souls
We were hungry before we were born

Oh wow, thanks a lot for sharing this song...!!
I'm not able to listen to it now, I am at work, but I heard this song a while ago and tried to remember its name.. which I didn't.. :)
I saw your lyrics and remembered the phrase "Morning keep the streets empty for me..". So, when I have time I'll listen to it immediately -again-..!

At the moment I am -still- listening to a lot of songs from Blue Stone, have placed most of my favs in a Ipod playlist, in random order: Take flight, Envy, Breath, Remember this, Only One, On the Wind, Hang on (great flute @ intro), Labyrinth of Dreams, Voleti, Worlds Apart, Confession, Moving forward, Deja Vu, Midnight Tides, Hypnotized, Lotus Bloom ...

I tried to add "Take Flight" as my reply, but it's -not- on Youtube.... :)

Was listening to snippets of more Fever Ray on youtube, ended up with the Knife and finally some Portishead.. and then for the last song I was searching for a demo version I used to have from "Comfortably Numb" it seemed a version from David Gilmour.. and I do like this version a lot (it's a very old recording so the sound is quite horrible, but I still prefer this one above the original..)

Hey Rory, thanks for your comment. It indeed is enigmatic somehow, and even despite the sound quality I do like it.. :) Was looking on youtube, there even is a version of the song with Kate Bush and David Gilmore.. There are a lot of versions..

Right now I'm listening to the new album I bought (on cd this time) from Massive Attack. I like the song Atlas Air from the album Heligoland... It's a bit 100th Windows alike (the previous album). And perhaps the start is a bit slow, but you should try it a bit longer, since @ ~5.40 minutes the song gets its awesome climax beat.. :)

Oh and TzVika, you should try the album "Techari" from "Ojos de Brujo", and for instance the song "Todo Tiende" is amazing in my opinion... :)

Track description below taken from http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=7274624

"....On the track "Todo Tiende," you'll find blistering Indian percussion and bhangra alongside an insistent, tough rap-informed vocal by singer Marina Abad, all layered over the furiously strummed guitar of Ramon Giménez. Roughly two-thirds into the song, the band breaks into an ethereal, quasi-psychedelic space jam that both showcases Giménez as a spellbinding soloist and confirms Ojos de Brujo's ability to take off on jazz-like flights."

Have been to the movie Avatar twice already. (IMAX and 3d)
I remembered that at some points the music was very breathtaking, as well as for this piece as posted above... The music and moment which were set after "Neytiri's" father died was the most "emotional"music point to me, it was also very haunting. It is a bit like this fragment, using of ethnic chants and more...

Did anyone of you go to this movie?

And yes, if you're familiar with the music of Titanic by James Horner, you perhaps will recognise his (great in my opinion) style... :)
