If you aren't already aware of it I'd like to call your attention to the Hunger Site, an innovative site that's been running for some time now. By simply clicking a button money is donated to starving people! The money is generated from the advertisers whose adverts come up once you click the button.

This literally only takes SECONDS of your time, but it is a wonderful way to use your time online to have a positive impact on the world.

Visit www.thehungersite.com (http://www.thehungersite.com) and make it a habit to do it every day!

You can sign up to receive daily reminders, and can click on the sister sites:

The Breast Cancer Site (http://www.thebreastcancersite.com)

Rainforest Site (http://www.therainforestsite.com)

Animal Rescue Site (http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com)

Child Health (http://www.thechildhealthsite.com)

Literacy Sites (http://www.theliteracysite.com)

These all work on the same premise.

Some dismiss it as sounding too good to be true, but it is 100% legit Anthea Webb of the United Nations' World Food Program has confirmed that the organization indeed receives donations via the Hunger Site and characterized the project as "innovative." Says Webb, "Cash donations equivalent to more than a million servings of food have been donated since the site opened in June 1999."

Yeah it's pretty good. Not my usual style of music but I like it. He looks like a young Kurt Cobain so I half expected grungy rock, but it's more reggae. again - I'm impressed with the idea of downloading a track and having proceeds go to charity.

Another BUMP :) Bump bump bump. I've been visiting these sites daily for about 10 years now. A lot of the time we just fritter away online, so it's nice to make some of it count.

Thank you so very much my dear friend. I will endevour to make it a habit.
No one need go hungry.
Here in Iowa the burn and allow foods of various sources to rot in an effort to control the market. It is truly shameful. ANd heart breaking when you know there are people around the world who would truly bennifit from this 'waste'.
...Pardon me...
I appreciate your shared information dear Rory.

Okay. I went clicking crazy. I thought they were going to boot me. But no, I got to click to my hearts content. Clicked 7 times on each and 'Hunger' got an extra click because of what I've witness here in this state, Iowa. I've bookmarked it so I can go back everytime I come on line and click away.
Peace my dear friend.

I just discovered this thread, which reminded me of The Hunger Site.
(I had visited it many times before but neglected it for awhile.)

Let me take this opportunity to introduce the site to new friends and reintroduce it to everyone else.

Click generously.

Thanks for bumping the thread Anjou, it's a fantastic site and a wonderful idea! I still do this religiously. Over the past 10 years they've donated over $20million to charity, just by people clicking buttons :D

No problem! I am happy to spread the word! I like the fact that one can assist assorted causes at that site (hunger, animal rescue, the rain forests, and more). I am a big proponent of helping to increase and improve literacy, so helping a needy child to receive a book is particularly meaningful to me.

And thank you dearest Anjou for reviving this thread!

Psst! Rory ... if I may suggest, could you turn this thread into a sticky thread, so it can be seen everyday. It's your call because this is your forum afterall!

Plus, I'm adding this website to my favourites so, it can get it's daily 'click'! :girl_yes3 (1):

Thanks for bumping the thread Anjou! It's such a great service and wonderful idea, there's barely a day goes by I don't click, but it's important to keep the reminder visible as until it becomes a habit it is very easy to forget. And thanks for the suggestion Polly, great idea and funny I had exactly the same thought just prior to reading your message. Great minds huh! ;)
