Ah a Coffee thread!

OK for about 2 (if not more) years I'm hooked on Illy Coffee! ( http://www.illyusa.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/index.html )
It's strong and oh so good.

I have a bean to cup maker so I just select from the screen what I want and it's made for me. If/when I feel it's time for a change I get out my grinder and go loooking for new type of beans not yet tried.

Wow, you guys make me want a cup right now!...

I pretty much became accustom to coffee later on in life. I basically drank it to wake me up. For the last two years, it has become a habit...(it seems). It also tastes and smell great! I pretty much purchase whats on sale because coffee is kind of expensive. So, the cheapest one that I prefer is Chocolate Truffle. I like the flavored coffee, but when I am out, I can get plain coffee from McDonalds. At home, I use two splenda's and some cream and a splash of milk. When I get it from McDonalds I have to use like seven creams and five splenda's.....their coffee is strong. I also like hazlenut, and vanilla type flavors.....not anything too extreme or strong.

Hey, I had an idea about a thread called "water cooler" about conversations one may have at the water cooler at work...and when you made this coffee thread...I thought it would be something like that. Do you have some interesting conversations over (during a cup of) coffee?

...Do you have some interesting conversations over (during a cup of) coffee?...

Some of the best conversations I have ever had in my life, took place in several small local coffee shops, busy conversing over a cup of coffee, that would go into the depths of the night!

Back when I still lived in the city on/off and I was still underage for 'drinking' to go to bars/pubs, I would hang out with my friends and we would trek all over the city looking for new local coffee shops that were open way late into the night!

We would talk about, anything and everything, from space to philosophy, from how to save money to art, from relationships to school, from history to jokes. Our coffee converstions took us many places, in more ways than one and I will always cherish those late night conversations of over a cup of coffee with my friends! :)

Peter and I are exactly the same when it comes to coffee which, as you can imagine, is great! I start every morning with an extra strength espresso that Peter makes for me! I come into work and get a large black coffee which is always really strong and at about 10am, I have another big strong cup of coffee. I try to limit it to that but sometimes I have another cup in the afternoon and another one when I get home. It's just so yummy.

Peter mentioned the machine but ours really is great and we use the Lavazza beans in their strongest form. Every cup is so fresh. It's an area of our lives we don't mind spending money on and people come to our house just for the coffee sometimes.

The odd thing though, when I was pregnant, it was my number 1 trigger for morning sickness. COuldn't stomach the smell of it, let alone the taste. Before I got pregnant, I was dreading the thoughts of giving up coffee but in the end, nature did it for me. I managed to stay off coffee for about 9 weeks after I had Seryn so all in all, I gave up coffee for over a year!

Anyway - I like it very strong, black with 2 sweeteners (Splenda) in it. I can drink coffee with milk but I'm not as much of a fan of that. Much prefer it black.

I like the 'conversations over coffee/water cooler' thread idea. Have had some of the best conversations over coffee and almost always learn quick and interesting things with people at the water cooler in work.

I have heard this from many, many women! Pregnancy has its different effects on women, but coffee seems to have the same effect throughout...hmmm, I wonder why?

Well, that's a first (for me), I have never ever met a woman who likes black coffee! You must be very brave Kiera, he-he! :girl_yes3 (1):

Meh... I can take it or leave it-- mostly leave it. If it only tasted the way it smelled. It has a rich, thick aroma, but a watery, thin taste. People tell me to add stuff to it to make the flavor match the richness of the smell (i.e. creamer). Then I ask if the only way you will drink coffee is to put creamer or whatever else in it, do you really like coffee, or coffee flavored drinks (Starbucks)? The only way I like coffee is black with sugar... or with Bailey's in it.

My coffee of choice is Coke! I am physically addicted to the caffeine, and psychologically addicted to the fizzy. I's gotsta have my Coke in the morning.
