Very interesting indeed. Site is not open to me... Or am I missing something? Be nice to get something new from him of any kind.

Could be they are building up the tension, nothing more to see from my end at the moment on the revamped site except the profile/background pic's from the other social media stuff which are amazing. Looking at it makes you think Enigma is kinda returning to it's roots. But hey... we won't know until the album comes out.

I am intrigued by all of this, even if nothing major is available... yet. I have been playing the rain, thunder, and whispers at enigmaspace.com, and, right now, hearing them is sufficient to both soothe and intrigue me.

I love the sounds of the rain and thunder given all of the horrid (and quiet) snow and cold of this winter. It gives me hope that spring is on the horizon.
Enigma never disappoints me.

According to the message from Michael Cretu (on Facebook and Twitter), he started recording Enigma 8 after a year of testing and experimenting. He also stated it will take time though, probably a good year, to work on the album.

Hmm interesting that a well known enigma site now is gone followed by a re-direct to that site...

Wonder when they done that?

Also looking forward to what could be coming up in E8. Now that the past has been deleted as such... I feel a new appreciation for this masters work.

This time round I really hope the internet not filled with comments of 'Its ok and all, but its no Enigma one or anything'.. and 'where the classic enigma sound gone' grrrr...
those guys really need to move on as the enigma project it self did... but I suppose all those people don't have the old enigma sites to post that crap on anyway so it can live on the book of faces all it wants...

.........

anyhoo, we be chatting here if and when something pokes its head out from behind those big ole studio doors or when any one of you guys want to comment

Looking at the comments here and there (Facebook etc.) a lot of fans and Enigma followers already hope and would love Enigma return to it's roots, the E1 to E3 era. They don't understand that this musical project is ever evolving or better... as Michael Cretu describes Enigma: it's a self inventing continuity. He also said he doesn't like to repeat himself or the same thing over again meaning what has been, has been and is a thing from the past.

Myself? I don't mind, for me Voyageur was da bomb after Cretu closed the first Enigma era and the album came out (i still like that album a lot), knowing already Enigma had evolved into something new. So will it be this time around. I'm very excited where this 8th journey is leading us to and i'm proud to be a Enigma fan.

About the well known site that has disappeared from the web..... dunno... maybe they open up a new one once we're getting closer to the album release next year on the revamped official site. To be honest, it wasn't maintained anymore and if i remember correct it's database got corrupted leaving members at a closed door.
Anyway, we'll see in time what will happen. :)

I quite agree ... any 'real' Enigma 'fan' knows not to expect MC's work to sound the same ... naturally I'm curious what vibes he's picking up on!! :)

Me too!! And with any Enigma album there is the initial hearing it, getting to know, knowing what you like, and then falling in love with the whole thing!!

Shared from Onur on FB!!

"News from Michael Cretu:

Let me put it like this: Enigma 8 will have a new sound while building upon the emotion of the early albums.

In other words, I won’t repeat myself, as always. None of the featured vocalists has been on Enigma before. The sound will be different, but the approach may be similar to E1 [MCMXC a.D.] and E2 [The Cross Of Changes]. It will be much more of a story, again. And there will be also some surprises.

All in all, I am really happy with what I have done so far. For the first time ever I am working chronologically on an album. So far, I have finished eight songs, but it’s still a long way to the release. Every new element adds to the overall atmosphere, so I always have to check back and forth. Only when I am completely happy, everyone else can start doing their jobs… marketing, promotion, distribution… you name it. All I can say for now is that Enigma will be released in 2016 and I will keep people up-to-date in the meantime."

Just want to say I really don't liker the art work.

I understand he may have a good reason for using it but... nope, doesn't sit well with me.

Will be interesting to hear the new work tho, wonder will some of the old crowd come out of the woodwork now that MC has...

Woodwork you say? Old you say? Well bloody hell. You bunch of bloody unbelievable platypus droppings!!!

Ok Ok. How are you all doing? I haven't forgotten you all. I came to this site again to see what was going on, saw this thread and saw what GT said. Well!! I thought, I better not disappoint!!

I agree, GT, I don't like the artwork at all, probably for similar reasons. My expectations for this album are guarded, and I question the single, Sadeness part 2, but we shall find out soon enough.

I hope that Cretu honours Martyn, he is the reason most of us have gotten to know each other and Enigma better.

Yep it would be great to see him have a line for dear Martyn.

Having heard the first single it's OK. Maybe overused samples but it's definitely enigma in there and that's always good to see.

Hope all is good with you my friend and life is being good to you.

I'm listening to it again on Deezer (i believe it's the 3rd time now) and to be honest..... The more i listen to it the more i like it. In one word: Phenomenal!
I hope my order of the physical CD (Deluxe Edition) will arrive soon so i can enjoy the 40 page booklet and artwork too.

It's so nice seeing some good reports of Enigma's music.

Mr B

Yeah and it's about time i believe, even without Jens and Sandra, Enigma made it back to it's roots. The album is haunting, beautiful, strange, dark, uplifting and so much more. It sounds like a real soundtrack too imho.
In the TFOARA EPK Cretu told us he was pretty much "empty" after the seventh album, something i can believe after all the things he went through the last 9 to 10 years. When trouble/stress piles up you start to lack inspiration and motivation and i'm pretty sure it all has to do with that for a part. Stepping away for a while from your project and trying to do something else is the best remedy like Cretu did with his friend Michael Kunze. They seem to work on a musical called "Metropolis" for which Cretu is composing the music following a script:
