Samsung recently came under fire for using tin solder that comes from highly dangerous mines in Indonesia. Friends of the Earth raised the issue with a visible #makeitbetter campaign—including signs in front of Samsung's office.
Just last week, Samsung announced they have changed their policy. Good for them! Apple has refused to state whether they are using dangerous mines to produce the iPhone.

Samsung lead the push to make mobiles betterThousands of people have forced Samsung to confirm it uses tin from Bangka Island, Indonesia - where tin mining is destroying tropical forests, coral reefs and livelihoods.

Our supporters have also secured a public commitment from the world's biggest-selling smartphone brand to find an industry-wide solution to end the damage.

But Samsung's fiercest rival, Apple, has refused to answer its own customers' questions about Bangka - even though Apple almost certainly uses the island's tin.

Apple is already playing catch-up on the high street. Your messages can force it to play catch up on Bangka too.

Hey there Enkde .... long time no see my friend ... welcome back to MW!! :)

Yes, you're absolutely right, child labour and slave labour is deplorable and an absolute scarilegious act against the Human Spirit and Universal Law i.e., just plain fundatmentally wrong-wrong-wrong-wrong! and any unsafe conditions that people are forced to work in/with is just wrong as well ... people have every right to work in safe conditions, reasonable hours and get paid well for the services ... no matter what their doing, period. Thanks for the link sweets!
