Well its nearly that time of year again, time for peace happiness and goodwill to all men :) love it or hate it, celebrate it or not, Christmas is a magical time of year for children. (and shopkeepers) What do you love about Christmas, what do you hate about it? Any favorite song/carols? what are you looking forward to this Christmas?

Looking forard to family time, rest and recuperation and catching my breath again. Love midnight mass in my local church...I use it as a service for my family that have passed on.
Love O Holy Night my favourite carol along with Hark the Herald Angels Sing.
Hate the commercialism, rushing, rudeness of some shoppers, people pinching the parking space I have been waiting for.

I feel more involved this year....I am enjoying it as well...and the thing I look forward to most is my childrens face when they see their presents...and the day off spending it with family...sleeping in, and getting rest....:Hbounce

Family united!!! that's what Christmass mean to me and what I love the most, we do some reunions through the year, but with this celebration there's no excuse whatsoever they have to be there, :Hbounce, I love food too.

What I dislike of it it's (obviously) materialism and shopping, usually I like to, but for Christmass is a living nightmare, I usually forget the list, my feet hurts, headaches, carrying all those boxes, I'm already depressed .

Yep I agree, Its great having time with the family and seeing the childrens eyes light up at the presents, Christmas lights and festive frolics.

This year I tried to get all the shopping done before everybody went into mental shopper mode and the town center became like a no go area.

I have not been to midnight mass for over 20 years, (excluding a time I was that drunk I thought it was another pub on my way home ;)) I think I may go this year for a change..

Everybody has decided that I am no good at wrapping presents up and have left it all to my partner and daughter. My attempt was an abomination. I have been relegated to writing out cards.

Tomorrow I am going to finish decorating my house, That really gets me in the Christmas spirit. :)

Well, I gotta tell you, when it comes to Christmas, theres no place quite like New York City. Something magical happens to this place. Its like all the barriers and defenses that New Yorkers natuarally put up to deal with the overload of human emotions just evaporates. New Yorkers become neighbors and smiles suddenly start to appear on those same faces that wont make eye contact in the crowded subway cars any other time of the year. The city is always lite up, but that takes on a whole new meaning at the holidays. Bloomingdales, Macys, Lord and Taylor, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's cathedral, the Wolhman Rink, Radio City...New York is nothing short of spectacular at Christmas. And of course every christmas show comes to New York. Just caught Trans Siberian Orchestra on Saturday ....Gen, thats when you tried to call lol. gonna hit up the Radio City Christmas Spectacular this weekend. And because New York is the worlds ultimate melting pot, EVERY holiday tradition can be found here. And to make things even more festive, we just got our first blanket of snow last night. A very small one, but it FEELs like Christmas.

From what I have seen on TV New York truly does like an amazing place at Christmas Jay, I would love to visit New York, its on my list of places to visit before I die..

I have never known it snow on Christmas Day, a few years ago it snowed on Christmas eve and everybody got exited but alas it had melted by the next morning. Its been snowing here off and on for the last month or so and its still cold enough to snow so I have my fingers crossed. Wouldn't it be great to wake up to heavy snow on Christmas morning..:)

Ah, yes, the Chistmas Spirit is trully enhanced when there is snow on the ground!

Yep, here in Ct, we got 14" with the first snowfall and then another 8" with the second snowfall, and then is started to rain a bit, and then got wicked cold. Now everything is frozen! It's crispy and crunchy!

Hey, maybe this cold air will blow over East to Ireland and give you guys some good flurries, in time for X-Mas! Those two storms were moving at a pretty good clip! :)

Hopefully it will then continue over the Wicklow mountains across the Irish Sea and on to dear old Blighty :)

Its warmed up over here the last week, I would be suprised to see it snow on christmas day, but stranger things have happened ;)

Hello Everybody,

I wanted to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas!!!!!:Hbounce

The thing I love about Christmas is Family gathering. This year I will see some of my family members that I haven't seen in twenty years. I am really happy about that. The thing I hate about Chritmas is my city is so quite and dead. It sucks:D

I love family time, time off work, and it is a nice break in the middle of a cold winter - it was -31C yesterday!

I don't like the commercialization of Christmas. It is great for kids, but it takes away from the birth of Christ. It is about stuff, not about the Lord anymore.

:Hbounce:Hbounce

Merry Christmas everyone!!
