Okay, few days ago I had the opportunity to check out new Enigma DVD from latest album "Seven Lives Many Faces". Thing people are interested the most is are there any new videos ? Well, the answer is a big NO .. There is nothing new, only old material [some of it not used very long in old videos, but still old and recognizable] with a few visualization effects that are kinda cheesy and in some parts look like old WinAmp plug-ins. There is no Kaleidoscope as well by the way... To be totally honest I did not expect new videos and there is a global recession going on, but I really hope for some more original and new material for next Enigma album... I only like the hand thing in the last song and as for broken ice part I think that was from LSD Show, but I can't be sure...

Also, for some strange reason DVD was not broken into chapters ? As for music, its exactly the same as on the album, nothing has been changed or added... Compared to "A Posteriori" DVD there was a big discussion which version you like Cd or DVD and I'm glad some songs were bit modified so to say :) :two hearts:

Compared to previous DVD by Enigma "A Posteriori", I'm afraid that I have to say that this is a very poorly done DVD. If you already own a Cd or have bought music via some download center, if you skip this release you would not miss much. My opinion is that only reason to buy it is if you really need 5.1 sound.

My recommendation is to check it out anyway, its a nice to have in your DVD collection and who is interested checks out "A Posteriori" DVD if you are in search of a good Enigma DVD :D

You can find this DVD in most online stores.. Be sure to shop safe :gathering:

Enigma have brought out some great videos in the past, I hope this DVD is not as bad as you say, :( I had a look at a preview of it on enigmaspace and it did not look that original or inspiring to be honest, I will reserve judgment till I have seen it all, I will probably buy it at some point.

There are some clips here for anybody who has not seen them

Well the videos were actually better than I was expecting (frankly I wasnt expecting much in the way of anything!). They get better as the DVD goes on and most are more interesting to me than the Seven Lives and La Puerta clips we've already seen. I LOVE the videos to Je T'aime, Distorted Love, Between Generations and Language of Sound...Je T'aime is just beautiful. I think a lot more work went into the graphics here than the kaleidoscope in A Posteriori. Most of the old video footage has been reused very well, and sufficiently edited to look different.

I'm very disappointed by the sound however. It claims to be in 5.1 and DTS but I'm pretty sure it's not....in which case it's falsely advertised. I don't know whether this is a mistake or whether it's deliberate and they just hoped we wouldn't notice.

Anyway, I still enjoyed the DVD - but it's not as good overall as A Posteriori (mainly because the sound on AP was much better and I kind of prefer that album).

Me 2 in the end :) I don't have 5.1, so I didn't had opportunity to tell more about it.. I would like to hear AP is 5.1, I think that would be very interesting..

AP is breath-taking in surround...if you know anyone with surround sound it would be worth asking if you could 'borrow' it! It's like being immersed in a wave after wave of sound....from the tempest of Feel Me Heaven to the gentle oceanic drifting of 20,000 Miles - it's just amazing. AP is such an underrated album...and I definitely feel that anyone who hasnt heard it in 5.1/DTS simply hasn't heard the album properly, not as it was meant to be heard. I also think that the changes made to some of the tracks (particularly Message from IO and Goodbye Milky Way) make it superior to the CD version. :)

I didnt bother with the DVD.. after seeing the "videos" for the first 2 singles, and how they were recycled, I knew it wasnt going to be anything of interest.
Either way, I much appreciate your review.

Thank you for the review Samael ......I didn't expect anything new in the video front but i was eagerly waiting to experience E7 in 5.1 mode,as i hear you all ,it seems another goof up ,it's again a huge let down.........Instead of all those pre release drama of puzzles and stuff ,It would've been better if they had invested that time in a decent video making atleast for one song.....LPDC is my choice

the gentle oceanic drifting of 20,000 Miles

Wow i share the same passion for '20,000 miles over the sea'.....i got hold of it's essence in the very first listening......sadly some of my friends who is into making music simply dismiss it as a keyboard preset, which is again hard to believe .........how is your ocean? I visualize deep inside the ocean, like into the abyss,my abyss isn't dark it's teaming with life with it's very own ever shining star.

to be honest I didn't buy it cause I felt something wrong about it from the moment it was announced...

then I watched long trailer, a video of Je taime and other parts and didn't regret . maybe I will get it later, but now just before Christmas I will have more expenses for presents (for myself also maybe some CDs I want more) and other New Year stuff... so maybe later.

AP DVD is a masterpiece for me and I am happy it was releases . It is a treasure for Enigma and very interesting DVD. by the way I was very ill when it arrived 2 years ago , but I got up and went to TV to watch it:blink: and was so happy....
