Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has spear-headed this campaign to change the fishing industry. Currently it's greed-based insanity: half the fish caught in the North Sea of Scotland are thrown back into the sea, dead. The currently system is not working. The campaign focuses on what I feel are the two most important factors when it comes to fish/animal agriculture: sustainability and humaneness.

Please take a second to sign your name to this important campaign. I'm really glad that people of influence like Hugh are making a difference and challenging the way meat is processed and the devastating effect it can have environmentally. TQ :)

I visited and added my name. Thanks for sharing this, which was definitely news to me. Troubling news at that. One does not always know how much such petition drives work, but, at the very least, voices carry.

Thanks guys. It has been a high-profile cause in the UK thanks to Hugh's short TV series which opened people's eyes to the greed and insanity of the fishing industry at current. Changes have to be made. I'm glad that people have responded so strongly to the campaign from what I've seen online :)

Looking at it from the aspect of the 'food industry', there is a lot of this type of activity occurring anywhere where food is mass produced.
In this time when sooo many are going without food, common sense would say 'feed the people.'
Obviously common sense doesn't apply to the 'market.'
