Uganda is now considering hanging gays and lesbians, and placing the parents of gays and lesbians in prison if they don't turn their children over to the government.

I'm a bit surprised at the lack of attention to this issue...

It may just be that people sometimes do not know what to say at such abhorrent acts, rather than say the wrong thing. I know I don't sometimes....but I agree...this is absolutely horrific!!

Michael...I've been in here a number of times...and wondered what to say about it...for many reasons.

One of the reasons is that Chad was saying that they have been practicing this for many years now and it is nothing new...so I wanted to go and explore in more depth this issue in
Uganda and perhaps other countries that may be practicing this type of discrimination.

However...as life would have it...we have been very busy with the new business venture and family etc...soooooo...have not been able to do that.

Also...there are so many things wrapped up in the whole understanding of why countries would do such a thing, why people are so afraid of it and treat it like a disease etc...and there is so much around it as you very well know...where does one start?

I've also been thinking about it in general...the fact that depending on where you live in the world...you may be hung or stoned to death for showing any skin, or being a women without a proper male escort, or for being Christian, or Muslim, or Buddhist or crippled etc etc etc...so this is not the only issue out there, although it is a significant one indeed.

When I think of this subject strictly on the basis of it being discriminatory against our gay and lesbian population in this world I can see that it is really an issue of fear based in religious and social beliefs that I don't personally see as viable, however it isn't me that is making up these rules.

So the truth is that we are dealing with very old and outdated belief systems that are very hard to change in people.

I mean lets look at us here in the USA, there are have been major strides in accepting the Homosexuality and bisexuality as a life style choice that isn't a negative one...and we are still in the throws of this change here...still up against belief systems that fear this change...so we as a country are not free from this sort of discrimination yet...and it goes both ways in many cases.

Hmmm...OK there you go...that's all I have at the moment...:).

Love Ya

Shannon, may I suggest you think outside the box.
I will say nothing more with regard to this.

(((Michael)))

How outside the box do you want to go??? :)

Here's the thing I see...we are dealing with anger and fear in both camps on this one subject...and when you have two sides feeling anger and fear you have a real potential for violence and abuse.

So what can we do about it?

Change the anger and fear within ourselves and encourage others by our example to do the same.

When people talk of these subjects to me in person, I share my understanding...and when someone is against it...I share my understanding, and frankly I usually have a bit of an upset around it...but I try not too...because this only fuels the others resolve.

It all starts with us as individuals...sending energy vibes to other individuals...picking up on energy vibes from individuals...how we deal with these things makes a difference in the ultimate outcome.

Again...we have so many issues at our doorsteps when it comes to hate and fear about lifestyles or religious belief systems here at home...and I'm a firm believer that by taking care of our home first we can then step out on the world stage and make a true lasting difference by example...but to go to a place and say...HEY...YOUR WRONG...while we practice hate towards (in this case Homosexuality) is like being hypocritical.

Getting really angry about this is going to war with it...and going to war with it only perpetuates the issue at hand and causes death and destruction to innocent people...as what is happening in Uganda...they are going to war against it...and people are dying.

Looking at it from this point of view I see the only solutions at this time that will create a lasting change is to not look at this from a standpoint of anger and fear, but rather by putting our energy into positive outcomes and understandings...supporting peace instead of supporting war.

It's the basic law of attraction...and I'm not expert at it, but I really believe if we continue to work within and do our level best to become balanced on an energy level in this very positive manner...that is ultimately where we can effect the greatest change...a change that would take hold and last.

I love this world.

Love
